Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana, the film opened to mixed reviews but still managed a strong start at the box office. Ramayana Part 1 collected ₹64.85 crore net in India on Day 1, with a gross collection of ₹77.50 crore across 25,200 shows. The number is impressive, but it fell short of the ₹100 crore opening that trade experts had predicted before release.

The epic surpassed Jawan’s Hindi opening in some reports, and more importantly, it became Ranbir Kapoor's biggest opener ever, beating Animal's ₹63.80 crore. It is also Sai Pallavi's biggest opening by far, easily crossing Amaran’s ₹21.40 crore.
Ramayana Part 1 Cast Details
The Ramayana Part 1 cast includes Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanumana, Ravi Dubey as Lakshmana, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, and Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari.
What Lies Ahead for Ramayana Part 1 in the Diwali Weekend
Trade analysts point to the Thu₹day release and Diwali travel as possible reasons for the slightly lower-than-expected opening, with many families likely to visit cinemas over the weekend. With Diwali holidays ahead and strong word-of-mouth for its visuals and performances, all eyes are now on Day 2 and the weekend to see if Ramayana can pick up pace.
Conclusion
Despite missing the ₹100 crore mark, Ramayana Part 1 has opened strong as the second-biggest opener of 2026. With Diwali weekend ahead and positive buzz for its visuals, the film is well-placed to grow further at the box office.
