Enola Holmes 3 Trailer Out

After much waiting, the  ‘Enola Holmes 3’ trailer has been dropped on social media recently. The caption on their Instagram post read, “Detective by nature. Rebel by choice. Romantic by accident. ENOLA HOLMES 3, directed by Philip Barantini, premieres July 1, only on Netflix.”

The trailer shows a seemingly runaway bride scenario, as Enola shoots at a mysterious figure on horseback while her husband-to-be waits for her at their wedding venue. The figure turns out to be Dr John Watson (Himesh Patel), who brings news of Sherlock's disappearance. It is dramatic, fast-paced, and sets the tone for what looks like the most ambitious chapter of the franchise yet. 

This is the first ‘Enola Holmes’ film not directed by Harry Bradbeer, who helmed both the 2020 original and the 2022 sequel. Philip Barantini takes over for the third film, and his fingerprints are all over this trailer. His style brings a sharper, more pressured energy to Enola's world, and fans are already noticing.

Enola Holmes 3 Expected Plot

As Enola heads to the altar to wed Lord Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge), she learns the distressing news that Sherlock (Henry Cavill) has been kidnapped. What was supposed to be the happiest day of her life quickly becomes her most dangerous case yet. This unexpected turn of events sets off a series of questions and challenges for Enola in Malta. 

The film takes Enola to the island nation of Malta, where personal and professional dreams collide in a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before. With Sherlock missing and a wedding on hold, Enola has to do what she does best: think fast, act faster, and trust absolutely no one. 

Story details have largely been kept under wraps, but a big part of this movie's plot will focus on the wedding between Enola and Tewkesbury, which is sure to be anything but conventional. 

Barantini has publicly compared the third film to ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’ in terms of franchise maturation, signalling a clear intention to take the series into darker, more emotionally complex territory. Expect fewer diversions and more tension from start to finish.
