About Awarapan 2:

Apart from Emraan Hashmi, Awarapan 2 stars Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi in the lead roles. It is the direct sequel to the 2007 film Awarapan. Interestingly, the first part was a box office failure but later became a cult classic due to its hit songs and storyline. The 2007 film is also reportedly an uncredited remake of a popular Korean film, A Bittersweet Life.
The sequel is set 19 years after the events of the first film, where Shivam returns and is recruited by an Interpol officer to rescue a group of abducted children in Bangkok. He is accompanied by Zara, played by Disha Patani.

About Batwara 1947:

The movie stars Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal, and Abhimanyu Singh in the lead roles, with Khushi Hajare, Kanikka Kapur, and Isha Sandhir seen in pivotal roles.
The story is set during the Partition of India and Pakistan and follows a Muslim family that had to move from Lucknow to Lahore. They are allotted a beautiful haveli in the city, which earlier belonged to a Hindu family. They are shocked to see an elderly Hindu woman already living in the house and refusing to leave.
It is based on Asghar Wajahat's drama Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamya E Nai, which was premiered in 1989 and gained popularity across the world.

Both Awarapan 2 and Batwara 1947 had huge hype before their release. But Emraan Hashmi's fan following and nostalgia factor of Awarapan benefitted the romance action film.
