Sanjay Leela Bhansali is reportedly planning to bring back Inshallah once Love And War is out. The film was supposed to star Alia Bhatt and Salman Khan but it never took off. Now that the project is back in talks, everyone wants to know who will play the male lead.

What Is The Latest Update On Inshallah?

According to the Mid-day report, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Alia Bhatt may reunite for Inshallah after their upcoming film Love And War releases. The film was announced back in 2019 and was planned for an Eid 2020 release. Everything was sorted and fans were excited because it was going to be Alia's first film with Bhansali and Salman's first with him in 20 years.

Then a report came that Salman Khan walked out of the project just days before the shoot was to begin. Creative differences were said to be the reason and the film was shelved.

Why Is Salman Khan's Casting Being Questioned?

The two have a long history. Salman has worked with Bhansali in movies like Khamoshi: The Musical, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and an extended cameo role in Saawariya. Reports of fights between them have come up more than once over the years. After the Inshallah exit, many people assumed the two would not work together again.

So when news came that the film is being revived, the first question was whether Salman would return. According to the report, nothing is final yet.

Will Shah Rukh Khan Or A Younger Actor Join Alia?

Earlier this year, there was talk that Shah Rukh Khan could step in as the lead. The source quoted in the report says that no casting is locked at this stage. They said that a Bhansali film does not get its cast finalised until the script is ready. The source also added that the story may need a younger actor.

This means Salman, Shah Rukh or someone new could still end up opposite Alia. It all depends on how the script shapes up.

What Happened To Alia Bhatt And Bhansali After Inshallah?

When Inshallah fell through, Bhansali and Alia did not stay apart for long. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bhansali shared how emotionally difficult it was for Alia when the movie got shelved. He said, "I was doing Inshallah with her, and suddenly the project got shelved. She broke down, she cracked up, she cried, raved, ranted, locked herself in a room. Then I called her up after one week and said, 'You're playing Gangubai.'"

For now, Inshallah has no official announcement, cast or release date. Everything depends on what Bhansali decides once Love And War is out.
