A 19-year-old model hailing from Haryana, India, would have once dreamt of walking an international runway for one of her favourite brands, but never would have thought it to come this early. With passion and hard work, Bhavya Verma walked the runway at New York Fashion Week for the Tory Burch Spring/Summer 2027 show in a shimmery gold dress that can catch the flicker of each light to make it even more sparkling and radiant.  

Who Is Tory Burch's Newest Model Bhavya Verma?

A 19-year-old model from Karnal, Haryana, made her debut at the Tory Burch Spring/Summer 2027 show by walking Look 7 in a golden chintz acetate dress styled by Brian Molloy and cast by Ashley Brokaw, she made a memorable first impression. Her hair was swept into a soft, undone ponytail with loose strands framing her face, while layered chokers added a touch of edge to the romantic ensemble. It was a standout debut, and Bhavya fully embraced the magic of the moment.

“Backstage felt like the first day at a new school,” Bhavya shared her experience, adding to the she said of the experience, adding that the initial intimidation quickly gave way to the realisation that it was, in fact, fun. She said it was an unmatched experience and showed gratitude to her collaborators.

India's presence on the global fashion stage

This may be an exciting and proud moment for Indian watchers; however, this is not the first time Indian models are walking the runway for international brands at global fashion shows/weeks. There is a growing presence, and the luxury houses are increasingly hiring Indian models to tell the story.

The latest appearance of Bhavitha Mandava, who was discovered at the New York subway station for Chanel's collection showcase. In 2025, she became the first model to open a runway show for Chanel when she led the house's Métiers d'Art presentation in New York, and months later she was announced as the Indian House Ambassador for Chanel.

Neelam Gill, the British-Indian model, returned to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in 2025 for her second appearance, and Vogue India noted that she was the only Indian model in that year's lineup and the first Punjabi face on the walk.
