Nobody saw this one coming. Kareena Kapoor Khan shared a photo with Mira Kapoor on her Instagram Stories, confirming that Mira is a guest on the new season of her show, What Women Want. Alongside the picture, Kareena called Mira "absolutely warm and lovely." 

What Is ‘What Women Want’?

What Women Want is a show where Kareena sits down for open conversations with women from films, fashion, wellness and beyond. The talks cover careers, relationships, motherhood and self-image. It began on Ishq 104.8 FM as a radio show, and the current run is its sixth season.

Mira fits the format well. She stays out of the film industry, but she has built a solid following online with her parenting, fitness and skincare content, and she also has her own beauty brand. A release date for her episode has not been announced yet.

Kareena And Mira Share Screen For The First Time

The reason this is such big news is simple. Kareena dated Shahid Kapoor for around three years in the mid-2000s, and this is the first time she and Mira have been seen together in public. The two even worked together in Jab We Met. Mira later married Shahid, and the two women had never shared a frame until now. Mira also posted pictures from the set on her own Instagram, thanking Kareena for having her and praising her.

Fans React To The Crossover

Fans were quick to react. Many called it a crossover they never expected, while one user said the collaboration was never on their bingo card for life.

Another wrote that they cannot wait for the gossip and conversations between the two. Some simply kept it short and called the whole thing amazing.

Kareena And Mira's Fashion Take

The outfits got their share of attention too. Kareena went for a bright red wrap-style top with structured shoulders and full sleeves, paired with a wine-coloured leather wrap skirt with ruffle detailing on the side. 

Mira picked a white strapless corset-style top with delicate embroidery and teamed it with a black leather midi skirt. She added gold earrings and kept her hair in soft, loose waves. Both chose leather skirts, and the mix of red, white and dark shades made the pair look polished without trying too hard.

Beyond The Shahid Kapoor Connection

Much of the internet has framed this as a story about the past, but the posts from the set say something else. Mira thanked Kareena for having her and for being the woman she is, and her caption said that women simply want to be themselves. Kareena's note was just as warm. There is no drama in either post, only two women who look completely at ease sharing the same space.

That is also what makes the episode worth waiting for. What Women Want has always been about women talking openly about their choices, without judgement. Mira has built her own identity outside films, so a conversation with Kareena on work, motherhood and self-image could be a refreshing one, with the focus on the two of them and not on who was once married or dating whom.
