Several celebrities graced the Met Gala 2022 with their appearance. This year, the theme was Gilded Glamour which is open to interpretation. We saw the celebrities in their best outfits. Have a look at some of the most striking appearances at the event.
We have to start with our Indian fashion icon, Natasha Poonawala who represented the country on the red carpet and made us proud. She interpreted the theme with an Indian gaze that revels in multi-culturalism and authenticity.
She is wearing an outfit by Sabyasachi Mukherjee which contains a Schiaparelli hand-forged metal bustier paired up with a custom couture sari and trail. The accessories were making a statement and made her one of the best dressed at the Met Gala.
We have to include our favourite Blake Lively on this list as her dramatic dress transformation has all our hearts. She wore Atelier Versace and the design was inspired by the city of New York.
The star walked to the Met steps in a shimmering rose gold gown inspired by Manhattan’s architecture and honouring the Empire State Building. Then, the bow on the dress was untied to reveal a blue trail which was inspired by the Constellation decor at Grand Central station.
Just like every year, Kim Kardashian managed to make our heads turn even this year as she showed up in Marilyn Monroe’s iconic “Happy Birthday, Mr President” dress. It might be common to wear sheer dresses in 2022 but it was a shock for everyone back then. Kim recreated the look but she wore the original dress only for mere moments as she didn’t want to take risks with such a delicate piece.
Kylie Jenner's look confused us a bit but she did manage to make heads turn with her appearance. She wore a voluminous ivory gown with a ruffled skirt and a sheer corset bodice. She also featured a white baseball cap which grabbed all the eyeballs. The dress was from the late designer Virgil Abloh and it was a way to pay homage to his work.
Cardi B sizzled on the red carpet as she wore a glittery gold Atelier Versace gown featuring. Gold chains were featured on her body to do justice to the theme. According to the release from the brand, “a mile of gold metal chains” were stitched to the tulle nude fabric.
Bridgerton star Simone Ashley was definitely the diamond of the season as she made her debut at the Met Gala. The star paired up a flowing black maxi skirt with a gold metallic bustier and a jacket on the top. She wore her slicked and accessorised with a stone choker and earrings.
Winnie Harlow definitely grabbed all the attention as she turned up in a futuristic ballerina Iris Van Herpen couture gown which featured a black root-like motif at the centre. Along with the outfit, she wore a large crystal crown which was definitely the statement piece of the whole look.
Gigi Hadid was one of the few celebrities who grabbed the spotlight. She wore a red leather corset and paired it up with matching skin-tight pants. She teamed up the outfit with pair of red knee-high boots. She added some drama to the outfit with OTT crimson jacket.

Grammy-winning rapper wore a golden cut-out Moschino gown and paired it up with a feather shawl. She completed the look with a sleek bun and a winged out black smokey eye.
Cara Delevingne walked the red carpet in a red cropped jacket with well-fitted trousers which was paired up with red platform pumps. Also, she was carrying a decorative stick. She then removed her jacket to reveal her neck, shoulders, arms and chest slathered in gold body paint. She further put gold pasties on her bust and was accessorised with body chains.
