Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui had finally broken his silence on the ongoing tiff with his wife Aaliya Siddiqui and released a lengthy message on social media that they have been divorced for many years and that their agreement was primarily for the children. The couple has two minor children, a daughter of 12 and a son of 7, and Aaliya has accused the actor and his family of harassment.

He accused her of leaving their children behind in Dubai, keeping them out of school for over 45 days , and using the “drama” to coerce him into giving her more money.

“I am termed as a bad guy everywhere because of my silence. The reason I have kept quiet is because all this tamasha (show) will somewhere be read by my small children. Social Media Platforms, Press and a bunch of people are really enjoying my character assassination on the basis of one sided and manipulated videos. There are few points, I would like to express--1. First of all me and Aaliya do not stay together since several years, we are already divorced but we definitely had an understanding only for our kids,” he wrote in the post.
He further wrote, “She only wants more money and hence have filed numerous cases on me and my mother & it’s her routine, she has done the same in the past too and withdraws the case when paid as per her demand.”
In the same post, Siddiqui also refuted the allegation by Aaliya of him throwing her and their children out of his house and stated that since the property was registered in his mother's name, he had no control over who may enter it.
This is in context to a series of videos posted by Aaliya where she accused the actor of assigning guards outside the house and not letting her and their children inside the house. “After being in the house for 40 days I stepped out as office bearers at Versova police station called me urgently... but when I went back to the house with my children Nawazuddin Siddiqui had deputed a number of guards to not let us in (sic).”
