
Popular South Korean boy band ASTRO's member Moonbin died on April 19, 2023, at about 8:10 p.m. at the age of 25. The management of the K-pop star found him dead in his residence in Seoul's Gangnam district. His manager called the police right away because they believed Moonbin committed suicide. His autopsy results are still awaited to determine the cause of death. His agency Fantagio has issued an official statement.

Fantagio, Moonbin's management agency, announced the awful news via a post on their social media handles, stating that the family desire a private funeral with only intimate family members and agency colleagues in attendance. Fans all over the world are shocked and heartbroken by the young star's passing.

According to Moonbin's sister, Moon Sua's agency has cancelled her week's plans. The agency said, "Hello, this is Mystic Story. We notify you of the cancellation and/or postponement of all schedules planned for this week. In the case of the fan sign events, we plan to notify you of rescheduled dates and further details in a subsequent statement, and in the case of all other broadcast appearance schedules, we also intend on uploading separate notices soon. We ask fans for your understanding."

A representative of Mnet's 'Boys Planet' stated that, "After a lengthy discussion on whether or not to carry on with the live broadcast of the 'Boys Planet' finale, we plan to broadcast it as scheduled." A representative from 'M! Countdown' also stated, "Today's broadcast will be carried out with a quiet atmosphere and our deepest condolences."
KBS' Music Bank has also said that, “Their Music Bank will be carried out as scheduled, but the photo wall on the way to 'Music Bank' has been cancelled. At the end of the broadcast, a memorial video for Moonbin is currently scheduled to go out, and it's under discussion."

According to the Korean news websites, The performers will reportedly be asked to wear black clothes, and the broadcasts will feature a message of support and remembrance for Moonbin.

MJ from ASTRO takes emergency leave from the military to attend Moonbin's funeral. Cha Eun Woo had planned to travel from Korea to the United States on April 10 to attend the Dior Show and return on April 24. However, when he learned of the news, he immediately boarded the plane to attend Moonbin's funeral.
