Skincare Regime For Different Age Groups by Dr Sonali

Dermatologist and Cosmetologist, Sonali Choudhary, who is working at the Smart Metabolic Anti Ageing Center, says every age group needs to follow a skincare regime. There are five things that everyone should follow starting from diet, stress, sleep, moisturisation or hydration and use of sun block. 

Diet

It is extremely important for skincare, as the food that goes inside your body reflects on your skin. Your skin acts like a mirror to your body. High levels of sugar or high levels of carbohydrates actually speed up your ageing process. 

Sun Block

Use of a sun block is vital even if you are indoors. When you stay indoors you are getting exposed to UV-A light which crosses the windows. 

Skincare Regime According To Age Groups

  • If you are in your 20s, make it a habit to stick to a skin regime starting with a mild cleanser, then follow it up with an exfoliator and a sun block and lastly moisturise your skin. 
  • If you are in your 30s, head for a foaming or a non-foaming cleanser as per skin type, the follow it up with an antioxidant serum and then a sun block and then moisturisation. Your serum can have vitamin C. You can also add an eye cream which will help you in dealing with deep lines under your eyes.
  • Women in 40's and 50's should use hydrating cleansers. And then continue with serums with antioxidant properties, exfoliation, use of sun block and then moisturisation. You can always add night creams with vitamin E derivatives and vitamin A derivatives. It will actually help you with the pigmentation and fine lines. You can also add under eye creams for the fine lines.
