    According to Drik Panchang, chaturdashi will start at 1:57 pm on 11 November, 2023, and will end at 2:44 pm on 12 November, 2023.

History

    According to Hindi Mythology, Lord Krishna slayed the demon named Narakasura. This day is celebrated to commemorate the triumph of good over evil.

Significance

    As per Hindu Mythology, Lord Krishna rescued all the gopis from clutches of Narakasura and married them. On this occasion of Choti Diwali, people worship Lord Krishna and Bhudevi as Satyabhama.

Rituals

    On this day, devotees take bath in oil in morning during Brahma Muhurat. Many people wear new clothes, light earthen lamps, decorate houses, offer sweets like halwa, kheer, and dry fruits to deities.
