Tecno Camon 50 India Launch Expected: Camera And Battery In Focus

The Camon 50 series came back into launch rumours after its name showed up in Google’s device listings. Reports have mentioned two model numbers for the series. The regular Camon 50 is said to be CN5, and the Camon 50 Pro is said to be CN5c. Tecno has not confirmed the India launch yet, but these listings have kept the launch rumours alive. 

This does not directly confirm India launch. But such listings usually come when a phone is being prepared for more markets. Tecno has still not shared any India teaser, so for now this remains an expected launch.

The Camon 50 has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate. For a phone in this space, that is a decent screen setup and Tecno will likely use it as one of the selling points.

For performance, the phone gets MediaTek Helio G200 Ultimate with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. These are not flagship-type numbers, and that is fine because Camon phones are usually not sold that way. Here, the bigger focus still seems to be camera, battery and the overall daily phone experience.

The Camon name itself gives a hint that camera will be important. The Tecno Camon 50 gets a 50MP main camera with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. For selfies, it has a 32MP front camera.

This is a more useful setup than adding a small 2MP camera just for numbers. The ultra-wide camera can help in group photos, travel shots and wide scenes. The 32MP selfie camera can also work well for users who take more front camera photos and videos.

The phone packs a 6,150mAh battery with 45W charging. That is bigger than the regular 5,000mAh battery we see in many phones.

For Indian users, this can be a real reason to look at the phone. Calls, WhatsApp, office work, YouTube, reels, maps and hotspot can drain the battery fast. A bigger battery gives some relief, especially for people who stay outside most of the day.

Tecno will have to be careful with the price in India. The market is already packed with Redmi, Realme, POCO, iQOO, Motorola and Infinix phones. Many buyers now also look for 5G in this range. For now, the Tecno Camon 50 looks like a phone to watch, not a confirmed India launch.
