Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 has officially shown its look through a teaser connected to the Spider-Man: Brand New Day film promotion.
The teaser confirms what speculation had been pointing to for weeks: a shorter and wider body replacing the tall and narrow design of past Galaxy Z Fold models.
The outer screen is now set at a 16 to 10 aspect ratio and the inner display moves to a boxier 4 to 3 shape, which makes the phone significantly more practical for everyday use.
This time, the dual camera system on the back panel replaces the triple-lens configuration found on previous Fold devices. Power button and volume rocker have also shifted up along the shorter side frame.

Samsung Galaxy Unboxed In July 2026: New Confirmation from Fold 8 Teaser
Samsung revealed the first real look, and unlike the earlier teasers that used everyday objects and unclear shapes, this one shows part of the actual device, which includes the rear panel, button layout, and the overall shape of the phone.
Three things stand out from the teaser. The rear now carries a dual camera setup instead of the triple lens system found on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Fold 7. The side buttons sit near the top of a shorter frame and the body is visibly wider than any Fold released so far.
What’s New in the Design of the Galaxy Z Fold 8?
Every Galaxy Z Fold before this one was tall and narrow and the cover screen was so slim that typing on it felt like trying to reply to a message through a letterbox. Samsung has finally addressed this with what reports are calling the "Passport" format.
The 16:10 outer screen means you can browse, reply to messages, and use apps on the closed phone without constantly wishing it were wider.
The wider 4:3 inner display suits video, reading, and multitasking in split-screen mode.
Samsung Explains Why Galaxy Z Fold 8 Has Dual Cameras
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 teaser shows two cameras on the rear panel which is a significant upgraded version from the triple camera system on the Fold 7 and reports suggest the setup will include a 50 megapixel main sensor which is paired with a 12 megapixel as a secondary lens.
Whereas Samsung appears to be splitting its Fold series and the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 gets a cleaner two camera system while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to carry a more advanced triple or quad camera arrangement.
This means Samsung can price and position both phones separately.
