Samsung has quietly expanded its budget Galaxy A lineup with the Galaxy A07s, a refreshed version of the Galaxy A07. The new model keeps the 6.7-inch 90Hz display, 50MP rear camera, 5,000mAh battery and IP54 rating, but brings a MediaTek Helio G99+ chipset. The phone has debuted in Jordan, where the base model costs JOD 119, or around Rs 16,000. Samsung is also promising six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates, giving the affordable phone an unusually long software life.
Samsung Galaxy A07s Price and Launch
The Galaxy A07s has been launched in Jordan and is currently available through Samsung's online store. The base 4GB RAM + 64GB storage version is priced at JOD 119, roughly Rs 16,000. Reports also point to higher storage configurations in some listings, but Samsung's launch availability can vary by market. There is no confirmed India price or launch date yet. The phone comes in Black, Green and Light Violet.
Helio G99+ Is the Main Upgrade
The Galaxy A07s is not a major hardware redesign. Instead, Samsung has focused on one important change: the processor. It uses the 6nm MediaTek Helio G99+, replacing the regular Helio G99 used by the Galaxy A07. This makes the A07s more of a performance refresh than a completely new budget phone. It gets 4GB RAM in the Jordan launch variant, 64GB storage and a microSD card slot supporting up to 2TB.
50MP Camera, 90Hz Screen and 5,000mAh Battery
The phone carries a 6.7-inch HD+ PLS LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate. At the back is a 50MP primary camera paired with a 2MP depth sensor, while an 8MP camera handles selfies. The 5,000mAh battery supports 25W wired charging through USB Type-C. Samsung has also retained a 3.5mm headphone jack, side-mounted fingerprint scanner and IP54 dust and splash resistance.
The A07s' Biggest Advantage Is Not Its Hardware
The more interesting part of the Galaxy A07s is Samsung's software commitment. The company promises six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. For a budget phone, that gives the A07s a much longer planned support window than its price suggests. In practical terms, buyers are getting a phone designed to remain supported well into the early 2030s, although Samsung notes that its update policy can be subject to change.
What This Means for Buyers
The Galaxy A07s is best understood as a Galaxy A07 with a faster engine rather than a new-generation design. Samsung has kept almost everything familiar and put the upgrade budget into the Helio G99+. That makes the phone's real selling combination its improved processing platform, 90Hz display, large battery and unusually long software support. For Indian buyers, however, the bigger question remains its eventual India price and whether Samsung positions it close to the existing Galaxy A07 5G.
