This comes right after growing chatter around a Liquid Glass style redesign, smarter AI tools and a shift toward Rust based system apps for Xiaomi devices. While the company has stayed quiet officially, the timeline lines up with how Xiaomi has rolled out past HyperOS updates in China before expanding elsewhere.
What The Report HyperOS 4 Beta Schedule Shows
The report, shared by tipster CoolAPK and picked up by Xiaomitime, lays out a fairly tight rollout plan. Xiaomi is said to have started a preheating phase on August 5 in China, followed by beta registrations opening the same day. A dedicated HyperOS 4 unveiling event is expected on August 6, with the first beta build reportedly going out to eligible users on August 7.
It is worth noting that Xiaomi has not confirmed any of these dates yet, so the company could still adjust the schedule closer to launch and the early beta phase is also expected to stay limited to select Xiaomi phones in China before it expands to other markets, including India, in later stages.
New Look And Features Expected With HyperOS 4
Beyond the timing, most of the excitement around HyperOS 4 is about how different it could look and feel and reports suggest the update runs on Android 17 and brings a Liquid Glass inspired design with translucent panels, glass like elements and real time light field rendering. Icons are said to get a 2.5D redesign with more depth, along with updated system animations and a refreshed Control Centre and notification panel.
On the AI side, HyperOS 4 is tipped to include an AI floating island, AI based colour blending across the interface and front facing AI perception that reacts to how you use the phone. Xiaomi is also said to be adding customisable large folders and stacked home screen widgets, both aimed at making the home screen easier to organise.
Which Xiaomi Phones May Get HyperOS 4 First
Since the initial beta is expected to stay within China, the first wave of eligible devices will likely be recent Xiaomi flagships already running HyperOS 3 and wider testing and an India rollout usually follow once Xiaomi has ironed out early bugs from the China only beta phase, based on how the brand has handled previous HyperOS updates.
