Ranjit Tewari’s Cuttputlli stars Akshay Kumar, Rakul Preet Singh, Sargun Mehta, Chandrachur Singh, Hrishitaa Bhatt, Gurpeeet Ghuggi. . It is a remake of a South Indian film. In the movie, Kumar plays the role of Arjan Sethi, the dutiful sub-inspector who took an oath to keep the people of Kasauli safe from a serial killer. However, fate has other plans as the killer strikes from the shadows, leaving behind no trace of evidence, except a body. This will mark Kumar’s OTT debut with Disney+ Hotstar. Cuttputlli is a frame-by-frame remake of the 2018 Tamil crime-thriller film Ratsasan.

Netizens had mixed responses to the movie, mainly with criticism aimed at the background music and screenplay while they praised Kumar and Mehta’s performance.

Some people have even used #boycottbollywood for this movie as well. Earlier Kumar shared his views on this boycott trend saying, “People are smart enough to understand what is wrong and what is right. I would just request them, don’t do such mischief, it’s not good and it hurts every industry.”
