Ingredients

  • 8-10 peeled and washed pointed gourd (parwal)
  • 2 tablespoons gram flour
  • 1-2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 1 tablespoon coriander seeds
  • ¼ cup of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 pinch asaefotida
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 large tablespoon mustard oil
  • chat masala
  • salt to taste

Instructions

Step 1
Place a pan on stove, heat it and add cumin seeds, funnel seeds, coriander seeds and garlic and roast altogether. Once done grind it into fine powder.
Step 2
In the same pan add gram flour and roast on low flame. Keeping roasting until you see slight change in colour and aroma. Once done. let it cool on room temperature.
Step 3
Take a large bowl, add all the ingredient including roasted gram flour, grinded powder, salt, red chilli powder, asafoetida, turmeric powder, and 2 tablespoons of cooking oil. Bind all in a soft dough.
Step 4
Keep the consistency little hard, but not sticky. Do not add water. Otherwise it will come out from parwal.

Take your washed and peeled parwal make a single cut in the center, now with the help of a knife remove the seeds. Fill stuffing in parwal, keep aside for 5-10 minutes.

Heat remaining oil on non-stick pan and fry stuffed parwal. Cook it from all the sides on medium low flame.
Step 7
Serve in a plate. Lastly, sprinkle chat masala on all over stuffed parwal. Enjoy with rice, chapatti or all by itself.
