Soya Chilli Manchurian Gravy recipe is for those tired of making Manchurian balls from the scratch. It is also a convenient choice over dry or Manchurian gravy if your guests are arriving at short notice. 

It is loaded with lip-smacking flavours and has the goodness of soya chunks. It is a healthier choice over Manchurian balls. This recipe fits perfectly in the window of fine dining blended with the experience of a home-cooked meal.

How To Make Soya Chilli Manchurian

1) Take a pan, put water in it and bring it to a boil.

2) To the water, add soya nuggets, chopped onion, chopped green chilli, soya sauce, chopped garlic, salt to taste and chopped ginger.

3) Either reduce the water or drain it once the soya chunks become soft.

4) Let it cool on a wide plate.

5) Put the soya chunks in a bowl. Add chopped green onions, pepper powder, coriander leaves, salt to taste, chopped green chilli, lemon juice or vinegar, maida (all-purpose flour) and corn starch. Mix it well until the soya chunks are coated in the flour and corn starch mixture.

6) Add oil to a deep pan and heat it.

7) Keep the pan on high heat, add coated soya chunks and fry them until they develop a crisp shell.

8) Take another deep pan and heat the oil. 

9) Add chopped garlic, ginger, green chilli, red chilli and onion. Sauté them. 

10) Put diced capsicum (red, green and yellow), add green chilli sauce, tomato ketchup, soya sauce, vinegar and salt to taste. Stir everything on high heat.

11) Add crispy soya chunks and spring onions to the pan. Stir everything nicely so that soya chunks absorb the flavours of sauces.

12) Add some water to the mixture and bring to a boil.

13) Add three to four tablespoons of a mixture of cornstarch and water to thicken the gravy.

14) Garnish the dish with some spring onions and coriander leaves.

15) Serve it hot.

Ingredients

  • 1L Water (For Boiling)
  • 2 Cups Dry Soya Nuggets
  • 1 Teaspoon Chopped Garlic
  • 2 Teaspoon Chopped Green Chilli
  • 1 Teaspoon Chopped Ginger
  • 3 Tablespoon Soya Sauce
  • 3 Tablespoon Chopped Onion
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • Oil (For Deep Frying Manchurian)
  • 1/4 Cup Chopped Green Onion
  • 2 Teaspoon Chopped Green Chilli
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper Powder
  • A Handful Coriander Leaves
  • 3 Tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 5 Tablespoon Maida
  • 3 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 3 Tablespoon Oil (For Gravy)
  • 1 Tablespoon Chopped Garlic
  • 1/4 Cup Chopped Onion
  • 1 Tablespoon Chopped Ginger
  • 2 Dry Red Chilli
  • 2 Tablespoon Chopped Green Chilli
  • 1/2 Cup Diced Yellow
  • Red and Green Capsicum
  • 4 Tablespoon Light Soya Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoon Green Chilli Sauce
  • 1/2 Cup Tomato Ketchup
  • Salt to Taste
  • 1 Tablespoon Vinegar
  • 3 Cups Water
  • 3 Tablespoon Water
  • 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch
  • A Handful Chopped Coriander Leaves

Instructions

Step 1
Boil water in a pan.

Add soya nuggets, chopped onion, chopped green chilli, soya sauce, chopped garlic, salt to taste and chopped ginger.

Add crispy soya chunks and spring onions to the pan. Stir.

Add three cups of water to the mixture and bring to a boil.

Add three to four tablespoons of a mixture of cornstarch and water to thicken the gravy.

Garnish the dish with some spring onions and coriander leaves.
