Ingredients

  • 8 bread brown slices
  • 1 cup of semolina (rava)
  • ½ cup of rice flour
  • ½ cup of curd
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger paste
  • 1 chopped chilli
  • 2-3 curry leaves
  • 2 tablespoons of finely chopped coriander
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • salt to taste
  • 2-3 tablespoons of oil

Instructions

Step 1
Take a bowl, break slices of bread into small pieces.
Step 2
Add semolina, rice flour and curd in it.
Step 3
Also add onion, ginger paste, chopped chilli, curry leaves, coriander, cumin, and salt to it.
Step 4
Mix all well, until a soft dough is formed.
Step 5
In case your mixture is a bit dry, add an extra teaspoon of curd.
Step 6
Now grease your hands with a little bit of oil.
Step 7
Take a ball sized mixture and flatten it slightly. Also, make a hole in the centre. Prepare more balls in the same manner.
Step 8
Place a wok on the stove, add oil and heat it on high flame.

Deep fry the balls in hot oil, while turning the flame on medium.

Stir occasionally, until the vada turns golden brown and crisp.
