Preparing this scrumptious sev tamatar ki sabji is easier than anything you have cooked off late! Just some tomatoes and readily available sev from the market! It is that simple! The taste is as good as the ones you eat at the dhaabas! Pair this up with tawa parantha or even soft rotis and you are good to go!

Ingredients

  • 6 Tbsp Oil
  • ½ Tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 350 Grams Finely Chopped Tomatoes
  • 350 Grams Grinded Tomatoes
  • ¼ Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 4-5 Green Chilies
  • 1 Tbsp Red Chili Powder
  • ½ Tbsp Coriander Powder
  • ½ Tbsp Cumin Powder
  • ¼ Tsp Asafoetida
  • 1 Bowl Sev ( Haldiram Ratlami Sev)
  • 1 Bowl Water
  • Coriander Leaves For Garnishing
  • ¼ Tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 Cube Butter
  • ¼ Tsp Sugar
  • ¼ Finely Chopped Onion

Instructions

Step 1
Heat oil in a pain and add mustard seeds to it. As they splutter, add chopped green chilies.
Step 2
Add the chopped tomatoes to the pan along with turmeric powder, coriander and cumin powder.
Step 3
Add salt to taste and mix well.
Step 4
When the tomato begins to get soft, add the tomato puree to the pan and mix well. Close the lid of the pan and let it cook till tomato starts to secrete oil.
Step 5
Add the bowl of water to this and bring it to a boil.
Step 6
Add Garam Masala as the gravy boils.
Step 7
Add sev in the prepared gravy along with sugar.
Step 8
Add butter to the dish and garnish with coriander leaves and finely chopped onions(optional). Serve while it is hot or the sev will become soggy.
