Ram laddoos are a favourite for everybody and are easy to make at home. Follow these steps and make some delicious ram laddoos for everybody in your house for some evening snacks while it’s raining maybe?

How to make Ram Laddoos?

  • Soak moong dhooli daal for 3-4 hours in water.
  • Drain the extra water.
  • Put the washed daal in a mixer.
  • Add ginger and green chilli. Grind them in the mixer to make a coarse batter not a fine crushed one.
  • Empty the jar in a bowl, add salt, heeng and a pinch of baking soda.
  • Beat it rigorously until the batter is fluffy.
  • Now heat some oil in a pan. It should be enough for the moong daal balls to deep fry in.
  • Put some batter in a shape of balls one by one. You can make them in a balls shape by rolling them in between your hands.
  • Deep fry until golden brown in colour.
  • Take them out and put it on some tissue papers to soak the excess oil out of them.
  • Put a toothpick inside, if it comes out clean, it’s cooked. If the toothpick isn't clean and wet, it's undercooked.
  • Now serve them with green mint chutney and grated radish. You can make chutney at home if you like.
  • You can also sprinkle chat masala on the laddoos.
