How To Make Chole Tikka Masala?

  • Boil chole our chickpeas and keep aside.
  • In a big bowl, add boiled chole, dahi, tomato paste, minced garlic, ginger, fenugreek leaves, garam masala, haldi, Dhanya powder, chilli powder, chaat masala, black pepper powder, salt and sugar.
  • In a pan, add some oil. Add whole spices - cloves, bay leaves.
  • Next add marinated chole. Combine and cook for about 5 minutes on medium to high heat.
  • In another pan, add some butter, ginger, garlic and onions. Saute.
  • Next add turmeric powder, garam masala powder, cumin powder and coriander powder. Saute.
  • Add in the tomato puree and mix well.
  • Add this mix to chole tikka masala and stir occasionally.
  • Next pour in some water to make thin gravy. Mix well.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or rice.

Ingredients

  • For Marinade - 800 Gram Chickpeas Or Chole
  • 1 Cup Dahi
  • 1/4 Cup Tomato Puree
  • 1/2 Tsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 Tbsp Ginger
  • 1 Tbsp Fenugreek Leaves
  • 2 Tbsp Garam Masala
  • 1 Tsp Haldi
  • 1 Tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Chaat Masala
  • 1/4 Tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar For Chole Tikka Gravy - Oil And Butter As Required
  • 2 Chopped Onions
  • 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 Tbsp Grated Ginger
  • 1 Tbsp Cumin Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Garam Masala
  • 1 bTsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt As Per Taste
  • 1 Cup Cream (Optional)
  • Chopped Coriander Leaves

Instructions

Step 1
In a bowl, add boiled chickpeas or chole and all thew marinade ingredients. Combine well and let it rest for about 10 minutes to 1 hour.
Step 2
In a pan, add some oil, cloves, bay leaves.

Next add in marinated chole tikka.
Step 4
In another pan, add some oil and butter.
Step 5
Add ginger, garlic, onions and all the spices. Cook well.

Pour in the tomato puree, cream (optional) and stir occasionally.

Next add in the chole tikka and combine all the ingredients well.
