Arabic hareesa is a special dish made with meat and wheat or barley. Along with being highly delicious, it is extremely healthy as it helps in losing weight as well as reduces the symptoms of arthritis.   • To make Arabic hareesa, first, you need to add mutton in a pressure cooker with all the spices.
  • Now, add salt and water to it and let it cook.
  • Now, take out all the spices along with the mutton and shred it.
  • Now, add soaked broken wheat and let it cook.
  • After the broken wheat is tender, add shredded mutton along with black and white pepper powder.
  • Now, mix it all together and mash it well. Now, just add butter and salt.
  • Arabic hareesa is now ready to be served.

Ingredients

  • Mace
  • Cinnamon Stick
  • 500 Gram Mutton
  • 150 Gram Broken Wheat
  • 1 Onion
  • Garlic cloves
  • Ginger
  • Nutmeg Bay Leaf
  • Butter
  • ½ Tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • ½ Tsp White Pepper Powder
  • Salt

Instructions

Step 1
Soak the broken wheat for 5 hours.
Step 2
Now take a pressure cooker and add mutton. Add onion, garlic cloves, crushed ginger, cinnamon stick, mace and nutmeg bay leaf to it.
Step 3
Add salt and 5 glasses of water. Close the lid and pressure for 20-25 minutes.
Step 4
Cook on high flame till one whistle, then cook on low flame for 1 hour.
Step 5
Now take out mutton on a plate and shred the mutton. Also take out all the spices but not garlic.
Step 6
Now add broken wheat in the pressure cooker and cook it on high flame for 5 minutes.
Step 7
Then lower the flame after 5 minutes till it is completely cooked.
Step 8
After the broken wheat is tender, add shredded mutton. Add black pepper powder and white pepper powder.
Step 9
Mix well and mash it well using a masher. Add butter or olive oil.
Step 10
Add salt as required. Now, switch off the flame and plate it.
Step 11
Arabic hareesa is now ready to be served.
