Super Stree: Meet Orchha’s Only Woman Tourist Guide

Orchha or Urchha is a town with many historical sites to see. Located in Tikamgarh district of Madhya Pradesh, the town is situated on the bans of the river Betwa. The town was founded by a Bundela Rajput chief named Rudra Pratap Singh in 16th century AD. There are several places o interest that were bult during this time including the Fort of Orchha built by Rudra Pratap, Chaturbhuj Temple built during Emperor Akbar’s reign, Raj Mandir built by 'Raja Madhukar Shah' and so on. You may decide to go on a tour on your own but knowing the history of these marvellous structures will totally add to your experience of visiting Orchha. And what’s so special about taking a guided tour in Orchha? Well, it has to be Premlata Ray who is the sole woman guide in the town.
