Whether chocolates are good for us or bad for us, this is a debate that has been going on for a long time now. Chocolates do contain flavonoids in them which are very good for the heart, and probably that is the reason why people give a chocolate hamper to their loved ones on Valentine's Day and other occasions.
But the at the same time, they tend to be high in fat and calories. So, Nutritionist Kavita Devgan suggests that you be a bit careful when you get yourself some chocolates as going overboard with them might be not that good. Like it is said -- 'too much of anything is bad'.
The second important point here is that chocolate is good when it is dark. The darker it is, the better it will be for your health. As a basic rule, try and have chocolates that have at least 70 % cocoa.
