Summers are fun until we have to go step out for casual outings or indulge in some fun outdoor activities. But it can frustrate you when it comes to working out during this hot and humid weather condition. Moreover, working out in summers can have adverse effects on your health if not done correctly with keeping adequate points in mind. So, we have come up with some useful suggestions that you can consider following while working out this summer.
Having enough water throughout the year is important but it gets crucial to have 3-4 liter of water daily in summers. The hot and humid weather conditions in summer can dehydrate your body drastically and you may feel nausea and headaches. You tend to sweat more in this season and your body loses a lot of salt and electrolytes with your sweat. You must carry a water bottle everywhere you go especially during your working out sessions. You have to keep sipping on water in between exercises and after your workout to maintain the balance of electrolytes and salt in the body.
Choose your timings wisely
Until and unless you are preparing for any occasion it is better to skip your workout sessions between 11 am to 4 pm. These are the peak hours when the heat and sun rays are ruthless and can damage your health. You should ideally work out early in the morning or late in the evening during summers when the temperature is slightly low.

Avoid tight-fitting clothes
You should avoid wearing tight-fitting clothes while working out or generally going out for a walk in the summers. Tight clothes make it hard to circulate cool air and the body finds it difficult to breathe, when you are constantly in a pool of sweat it can cause the buildup of bacteria and infections on your body. Try to have loose clothes with cotton fabric and full sleeves that can evaporate the sweat easily and protect your skin from sun rays. Always prefer light-colored clothes over dark as they will reflect the heat easily unlike dark outfits that absorb it.
Wear Your sunscreen
Sunscreen is a product that you shouldn’t miss irrespective of the weather or seasonal change. It is essential in summers to protect your skin from harmful UV rays that can cause sunburns, rashes, and even skin cancer. A good sunscreen with an SPF 50, should be that constant thing in your bag so that you can re-apply it every 2 hours.
Listen To Your Body
Working out in hot and humid conditions can be challenging for your health, if you are not feeling well while working out you need to stop your session right there. Avoid indulging in intensive exercises that can make you feel dizzy and nauseous instead try practicing yoga asanas that keep your body cool and in a balanced state.
