Kareena Kapoor is well known in the fashion circuit for the confidence she exudes and the fact that she can carry off anything she wears. This time it was the Lakme Fashion Week Finale where she was the show stopper for designers Shantanu and Nikhil. The duo's latest line Recruit SS’19 was dedicated to highlighting the evolution that has led to the liberation of millennial Indian women. The actress owned the ramp in a black tube gown with leather details. With hair tied in a simple ponytail, her bold lips added power to her look.
After the show ended, media got some bites from the actress and the designers. Kareena said: 'I could feel the energy on the stage when I was on the ramp. I still get nervous even though it has been a decade. Still, the fear of 'Oh my God, will I look okay? And how is it going to be' is there? But today, I think it was just a powerful feeling.'
About their collection, Nikhil told media in an interview: 'We have always followed an anti-trend path and our couture creations stray away from traditional and constructed design notions. We always believe in reinventing and negating gender binaries and it only furthers our eclectic design connotations. We are constantly innovating from our nostalgic past to recreate that with futuristic design representations. This collection has been inspiring for us, even though it arises from our 'India Story', it represents futuristic design connotations.'
On the work front, Kareena will be next seen in 'Good News' opposite Akshay Kumar and 'Takht', backed by Karan Johar. The 'Jab We Met' actress is also hosting a radio show called 'What Women Want'.
