Lohri is just around the corner and most of us are busy with preparations. When it comes to festivities, the schedule gets absolutely hectic for moms. They have to take care of the home, work, children, and if time allows, themselves. But, this year, let’s help each other to make things a little easy.
With some amazing tips, you can manage everything more efficiently, be it your kids or your skin. For the same HerZindagi exclusively spoke to actress Sai Deodhar, known for acting prowess, wit, and for being an amazing mom. She has worked in more than a dozen shows, including C.I.D, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Udaan, Savdhaan India, etc.
Sai Deodhar was most recently seen winning hearts in Kashi – Ab Na Rahe Tera Kagaz Kora on NDTV Imagine. The actress has shared some really simple parenting and beauty tips with us so that you can enjoy Lohri to the fullest!
Turmeric, Yoghurt & Gram Flour Pack For Flawless Skin
Sai totally abide by age-old gharelu nuskhe when it comes to beauty and skincare. During festivals, most ladies are already too busy to go for extensive beauty therapy. If you’re one of them, ditch those expensive treatments, and rely on simple home remedies to prepare your skin for Lohri.
Just take 1 tablespoon of yoghurt, 1 teaspoon of turmeric and 1 tablespoon of gram flour in a bowl. Give it a good mix and apply on your face for 10 minutes. Wash and apply moisturiser for glowing skin.
New Moms Should Put All Their Worry & Anxiety Into The Sacred Lohri Fire
Ladies who have recently become mothers should definitely go easy on themselves and should not get overwhelmed with festivals.
“Honestly newborn baby mothers are super stressed and it’s all too new. I feel on Lohri they should relax, eat good food, feel happy and most importantly, put all their worries and anxiety into the sacred Lohri fire,” said Sai and advised to go to your friend or relative’s place to mark the holy festival.
This will save you time and energy to decorate your own place and do preparations for the guests. In fact, she will also be celebrating the day at one of her friend’s home.
Ethnic For Traditional Events
Lohri is not just any other festival for her, it is a special occasion for Sai and her husband, actor Shakti Anand since they got engaged on the same day. Therefore, she picked the perfect outfit for herself to look on-point!
“I love to wear phulkari dress; it makes me feel super Punjabi at heart. I will don it along with a Chunni, which my mother-in-law (ways of dealing with a possessive mother-in-law) gifted me on my 1st Lohri. I always do wear it during the puja,” told Sai Deodhar to Hz.
Ditch The Diet
When it comes to festivals, there shouldn’t be anything like sticking to a diet. Especially Lohri should be an occasion, wherein you embrace the ultimate cheat day (what Shehnaaz Kaur Gill has on her cheat day). “Give yourself a break for a day, and go for a complete cheat day. After all, that’s what festivals n festivities are for!” said Sai.
