The pandemic didn't stop our Bollywood divas from experimenting with their sartorial choices and giving us some big trends. While a lot of old trends were introduced with a new twist this year, a lot of new ones made their way.
From Kareena Kapoor Khan to Katrina Kaif, this sequined saree was draped by the leading ladies of B-town in shades peach, royal blue, black, lilac among other pretty ones. The sequined saree became a festive staple and it looks like the six-yard creation is here to stay.
Pantsuits too were a hot favourite among Bollywood divas this year. From Sonam Kapoor to Kareena Kapoor Khan, actresses experimented with statement power suits this year. Sonam Kapoor recently carried an athleisure pantsuit set from Beyonce's new collection and looks like the trend is going to make all the way to 2021.
Let's thank Kareena Kapoor for making the kaftans trend in 2020. When the coronavirus lockdown began, Bebo inspired us to take the easy route and carry cotton, beautiful block print kaftans at home. She inspired a lot of her B-town friends to pick kaftans for a day at home.
Coordinated sets weren't the newest of trends this year but they did get a makeover this year. Monochrome was in! Also, divas like Deepika Padukone, Ananya Panday, Kangana Ranaut experimented with shades like khaki, blush pink, ice blue among others.
More than half of this year went self-isolating and most celebs picked a set of comfy sports bra and leggings from their closet for a lazy day around. Outfits like these work for just anything, be it a yoga class or just a Netflix and Chilli kinda day at home with friends.
Tees and pajamas made a comeback as we spent the majority of this year at home during the lockdown. Many celebrities like Sonakshi Sinha, Karisma Kapoor took the comfy route and teamed their regular pajamas or leggings with fun logo tees.
Comfort left all the big trends behind this year. While at home, many celebrities opted for simple kurta and palazzo/pants sets. Sara Ali Khan to Mouni Roy, we got loads of inspiration on easy-breezy cotton kurta sets.
Neon was a big trend last year and it continued to rule 2020 as well. From greens to pinks to yellows, almost all the shades were a favourite among Bollywood divas this year. From cut-out sweaters to skirts to strapless midis, actresses experimented much with the neons this year as well.
Regular staples were given a fun twist by adding oversized belts. This emerged out as one big fashion trend of this year. These oversized belts are available in a variety of colours and stylists made sure they played with it all to break simple looks.
Face masks were initially introduced as essential due to the pandemic this year. However, it has now turned into a fashion accessory. Face masks matching with the outfits became a big trend. Not just for their regular OTTD's but celebs also picked matching face masks for their intimate weddings just like newly married Kajal Aggarwal and Gautam Kitchlu did.
