On the 17th of May, 2022, on the opening day of the Cannes Film Festival, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur hosted a formal dinner for the Indian contingent and celebrity guests who walked the red carpet with him. According to ANI, the menu, which ANI got exclusive access to, consisted of Indian food with representation from various parts of the country.
Indian Delicacies Served At Dinner
Various parts of the country India serves incredible food and many of these incredible foods were served at the formal dinner hosted by I&B Minister of India Anurag Thakur.
ANI reported that Pyaaz Kachori, Laal Maas and Gatte Ki Sabzi from Rajasthan, to Kadhi and Khichdi from Gujarat as well as sweet Kalakand was served at the dinner.
Who Walked The Cannes 2022 Red Carpet?
10 Indian celebrities walked as part of the Indian delegation on the opening day of Cannes Red Carpet.
Actors R. Madhavan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Tamannaah Bhatia, Music composer AR Rahman, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, Writer and CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi, two-time Grammy award winner Ricky Kej, Folk Singer Mame Khan and CBFC member Vani Tripathi were among the ones who walked the Cannes Red Carpet 2022.

Rajasthani Delicacies Served At Cannes Dinner
Pyaaz Kachori, Gatte ki sabzi, and laal maas were among the Rajasthani dishes served during the formal dinner.
Pyaaz kachori are deep-fried kachoris that are crunchy and flaky with a spicy onion filling. They're served with tamarind chutney, which is sweet and spicy.
Laal Maas is a famous Rajasthani mutton curry dish. It is cooked with a variety of masalas and tastes fiery and very tasty.
A popular Rajasthani dish, Gatte ki sabzi is a gravy based vegetarian dish from the Rajasthani cuisine. Gatte are gram flour, rounded sabzi which are added to the kadhi like curry.

Gujarati Delicacies Served At Cannes Dinner
Kadhi and Khichdi were among the Gujarati dishes served during the formal dinner.
Gujarati Kadhi Khichdi is a sweet and tangy, lightly spices khichdi which is a nutritious and comforting meal. A twist of sweetness is added to this dish by adding a little sugar to it.
