Amidst the grand-merging of Tollywood and Bollywood, actor Ayushmann Khurrana has recently spoken about his interest in working with Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil. He also mentioned that his affinity towards South Indian cinema is more.
“I am more attracted to South Indian cinema. Sometimes it feels like I am a South Indian born in a North Indian family. I am a huge fan of Malayalam cinema and I would want to work with Fahadh Faasil. He is one of the greatest content creators in the country and he is very inspirational. So, I think that collaboration would be really superb,” he said in a recent interview.
However, when asked if he would be interested in working in Punjabi films as well, the actor said that he would choose Malayalam films for the time being.

This is not the first time Faasil received a cheer or appreciation from a Bollywood actor. Previously, actor Gajraj Rao had taken to social media to praise Faasil’s 2021 crime drama film Joji and called himself the chairman of Fahadh Faasil Fan Club (Northern Region). “Dear Dileesh Pothan and other Malayalam filmmakers (especially Fahadh Faasil & Friends), I recently watched ‘Joji’ and I’m sorry to say this, but I have a bone to pick with all of you. Enough is enough. It is not fair that you are constantly coming up with original ideas and executing them with utmost sincerity, making actually good cinema. You need to learn a thing or two from other regional cinema, and especially us here in Hindi. You need to do some mediocre work also. Where are the tiring marketing campaigns and promotions? Where are the soulless remakes? Where is the obsession with weekend box office collections? This is too much,” Rao wrote.

He further added, "I hope you will not take any of this seriously, and continue the good work you are doing. In a non-pandemic world, I’ll always be ready with the popcorn for your films, first day first show.”
