Looking for a good lip balm which is ayurvedic and is paraben free could be a struggle for some and it has been for me as I have dark pigmented and dry lips which I cover up with lipsticks. So to take care of the dryness I had been hunting for a good balm. I got my hands on The Natural Wash's Beetroot Lip Balm which is ayurvedic and paraben free as claimed by the brands and here is my review.

Claims

The brand claims that the balm treats damaged lips and keeps them protected and soft. It is a rich blend of butter and oils to rescue parched and dehydrated lips.

Main Ingredients

The lip balm has jojoba oil, cocoa butter, apricot oil, vitamin-E, shea butter, honey and beetroot extracts.

Packaging

packaging one

The packaging of the balm is rather simple. It comes in a transparent plastic small tub with the product being the colour of beetroot.

packaging two

Its cap is golden and the cardboard of the box is a pale pink which gives you the feeling that the balm is ayurvedic indeed as if you notice, most ayurvedic products come in simple packaging as they are more about doing the job than concentrating on the look.

Fragrance & Consistency

consis

It has almost no fragrance which is good for people who are sensitive to different smells and it also means that it has no added fragrance. The consistency is sheer with a tinge of beetroot hue. It gives a subtle shine to your lips which makes them look alive.

Price

The 5 gm tub costs Rs 260.

My Experience

exp balm

Collecting lip balms is my habit but I realised my dry lips are not really healing. So when I started applying this balm and I have been doing so for 2 weeks, I began seeing a change. Of course it takes time and you have to keep yourself hydrated as well so that your pout does not dry out. The subtle sheen looks great and ever so slight pink tint in fact makes my lips look lighter. Leave it on after your morning skincare routine and after a few minutes, apply your matte lipstick and dehydrated lips are no longer an issue.

My Verdict

It is not like petroleum jelly so do not expect that and it actually makes your lips supple. It is a great base for me when I have to apply lipsticks as well. Give this lip balm a try if you are willing to give beetroot and other natural ingredients to do their job well.
