Deepika Padukone’s Bridal Make Up Look – How You Can Look Like The Diva

Deepika Padukone broke all the stereotypes when it came to her bridal makeup for her wedding to Ranveer Singh. There was no gold, no shimmer, no glitter on her eyes, yet she looked all bridal. In this video, Makeup artist Aakriti Kochar dissects Deepika Padukone’s bridal makeup look and tries to recreate it for you.

Deepika has a typical Indian complexion and her bridal makeup perfectly complimented it sans the use of anything to make her look gori (Hopefully the obsession to make Indian brides look firangi dolls ends with this!). Her makeup artist Sandhya Shekhar went with the trending look of a dewy, matte look with smoky eyes that highlighted her doe eyes. The use of highlighter and taupe-coloured lip was done perfectly to achieve a glam look minus the usual razzle dazzle look of Indian brides.

Aakriti Kochar talked to HerZindagi and showed us how it is easy to get the same look in a few easy steps:

  • Begin with contouring to enhance your face.
  • Use a concealer (choose the shade as per your complexion) to hide any areas with pigmentation on your face and to avoid the use of excess foundation. Deepika used a light base makeup and you can do so too. You can also mix two shades of foundation to get the right shade for you. Set the base with loose powder.
  • Deepika’s eye makeup was the highlight of her look. To get the look, use a little concealer on your eyelids. Deepika had a smouldering brown smoky shade on her. Use the same shadow and also pick an extra dark kajal for the look because it’s all about the kajal. Now conceal the under eye and blend well.
  • Use highlighter on your cheeks depending on the time of the ceremony. Deepika’s wedding nuptials were during the day so the highlighter was used accordingly and the sunlight kissing her cheeks also did the trick for her look.
  • Pick a shade or two warmer or lighter than your skin tone when it comes to the lipstick.

So if you are a bride to be and you don’t want too much shimmer then this is the look for you which is traditional and glam at the same time.
